SafetyPro Reset Sequence
There are several methods for resetting your SafetyPro printer. Some of these methods require software, while others may be performed by using power-on button
combinations. All are equally effective.
1. SP200/SP300 Printer Reset: Button Method
This method applies to the ISS SafetyPro SP200 and SP300 printers, which have one button and one LED on top. Your printer must be properly loaded with supplies before starting.
Please ensure you are using the correct power supply (output voltage should be 19-24v, output amps at least 3.75).
- Read and understand all steps before beginning.
- Power off your printer using the switch in the back.
- While your printer is powered off, hold down the Form Feed button on top of the printer.
- Continue holding the Form Feed button down until instructed to release it.
- Power on the printer with Form Feed held down.
- The LED on top of the printer will flash a few times, then it will slowly blink 5 times red, 5 times amber, 5 times green. The blinks will be slow enough to count.
- For Factory Reset Only: Release the Form Feed button after counting 5 red and 5 amber, and at least 2 green. You may have die-cut or continuous loaded for this sequence.
- For Factory Reset + Recalibrate: Release the Form Feed button after counting 5 red and at least 2 amber. You must have die-cut material loaded to re-calibrate.
- The printer will go through a reset sequence. It may or may not print some test data. If you selected the recalibration option, your material will feed out and may cut.
- When the printer returns to a solid green LED, power off for at least 5 seconds, then power back on.
- The internal memory of the printer is now reset.
If the printer does not return to a solid green light after reset, you may have additional issues. Contact ISS for assistance.
2. Printer Reset: Software Method
This method applies to the all ISS SafetyPro printers. Your printer must be properly loaded with supplies before starting.
This method requires that your printer driver be installed and configured and that the printer be connected to the USB port on your PC and powered on.
Please ensure you are using the correct power supply (output voltage should be 19-24v, output amps at least 3.75).
- Read and understand all steps before beginning.
- Download the latest version of DiagTool and unpack if using the zip.
- Run DiagTool.
- Within DiagTool, click the "Get Status" button at the bottom-left. This should report "Ready." If not, power off for 5 seconds, and power back on.
- Click the "Factory Default" button on the left-hand side.
- The printer LED will flash a few times on the SP200/300, the screen will power off and on on the Evo style. The printer may or may not print test data.
- When the printer screen or LED is back to normal, power off for at least 5 seconds, then power back on.
- The internal memory of the printer is now reset.
- Optionally, you may click the "Calibrate Sensor" button to recalibrate your printer. You must have die-cut material loaded to recalibrate.
If the printer does not return to a solid green light or ready state after reset, you may have additional issues. Contact ISS for assistance.
Printer Driver Re-install
At times, you may find it necessary to re-install your printer driver. Driver corruption can cause a host of odd behaviors. We recommend you re-install your
driver only if instructed to do so by a support technician, as the process can take some time depending on your system. Failure to follow all of the instructions
properly can result in the wrong printer drivers being removed from your system.
- Note: Using the DriverWizard clears your Windows printer cache of all SafetyPro drivers. This is necessary if there are corrupted components, or if you want a clean install.
- Read and follow these steps carefully, or you may remove printer drivers that you don't intend to remove.
- You will need sufficient security rights to uninstall and reinstall the driver. If you don't have them, your IT department may need to complete these steps.
- Turn off the power on your SafetyPro printer.
- Using File Explorer, locate your SafetyPro software folder. The driver files are usually installed in "C:\Industrial Safety Solutions\SafetyPro Driver"
- Once you've located the correct folder, you should see a long list of files. Locate the file named "DriverWizard.exe"
- Run "DriverWizard.exe"
- Choose the "Remove Printer Drivers" option.
- Choose the "Automatically Remove All Drivers by Seagull" option.
- Complete the wizard to remove all of the label printer drivers and clean the Windows printer cache.
- Your computer may reboot one or more times during this process. You will need to grant permission to the DriverWizard each time it reboots.
Once the DriverWizard completes successfully, your system will be clean of the old copy of the driver. At this point, you will want to delete the "C:\Industrial Safety Solutions\SafetyPro Driver\" folder
(or whatever folder you used in the steps above), and re-install the driver using the latest driver available on our support page.
